Segal has been the Lockheed Martin Corporate Director, Collaboration since 2021, reporting into the Chief Technology Officer focused on driving corporate collaborations between Lockheed Martin and commercial partners. He helps drive engagement with customer programs at all levels to enhance their offerings and work across all business units to advocate and focus research in cutting-edge domains for DoD. Segal previously served as Director, AI, Corporate Technology Scout, Advanced Research Programs and Chief Scientist at Lockheed Martin 2008-2021.

From 2001 to 2008, Segal was the COO of Nantero where he led operations roles focused on intellectual property management and partnerships. He Co-Authored >200 patents and applications generating award-winning recognition as a top electronics portfolio in the world. He worked with the CEO to raise $31.5M from venture capitalists, built $30M in revenue and a sold division of the company to a Fortune 100 company.

Segal is an accomplished public speaker who enjoys presenting new AI strategies to key stakeholders. He previously served as a Research Scientist, Visiting Professor, Scientific Advisor & Board Member.

Segal has a BA in Chemistry from Reed College, a PhD Chemistry from Harvard, and MIT Sloan Certification in Sustainable Business Strategies.
